Although sometimes, filipino recipes of traditional filipino cooks will not have any measurements. They just go by taste and experience which frustrates me and other novice cooks.
However, just borrow filipino recipes and you'll find that filipino cooking is not that hard. The manner of cooking is mostly stir fried, boiled or broiled. Stir fry alway start with frying garlic, onions and tomatoes. From then you can have a variety of techniques, spices and ingredients to give you that unique Filipino food recipe.

One of the most popular not only with non-Filipinos but also Filipinos living abroad with little gift of cooking is Adobo. With Adobo, you can't get wrong. This is my choice of Filipino recipe whenever I'm busy doing some other things such as working on my computer and at the same time need to cook for dinner.
Here's the recipe:
You have a choice of pork or chicken, but in this recipe, we'll use chicken.
2 chicken, cut into serving pieces
1 cup vinegar
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp salt
1/4 tbsp soy sauce
1-1/2 to 2 cups water
Now the fun part!
Combine vinegar, garlic, pepper, bay leaf, salt and soy sauce in a pan. Place chicken in pan and let marinate for 20-30 minutes. Add water and simmer until tender.
Magic! You now have Adobo! Serve it with steamed rice. Bonus is that you also finished your computer project!
Enjoy!
